Ludmilla Pavlenko is a Ukrainian painter, born in 1984 in Kiev, Ukraine. In 2007 she graduated from the Karpenko-Kary Kiev National State University of theatre, cinema
and television. Originally trained as a filmmaker, she is interested in visual arts generally.
She started painting in 2015 and took private academic drawing lessons. She works in different techniques in abstract
style. Separate works are made in pop-art and naive.
In 2017, inspired by the German artist Gerhardt Richter, she created a series of abstract paintings "Color: Emotion, Rhythm, Space." In this series the
artist explores the emotion of colors, their possible harmonious rhythmic combinations, and their influence on people and the environment in which they live.
Influences range from a number of artists such as Jan
Vermeer, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter, Pierre Soulage, René Magritte, Michaël Borremans and others.
Inspiration: abstract expressionism, impressionism, magic realism.
